Prof. Dr. Vijaya Gunturu: A Legacy of Excellence in Engineering Education with over 35 years of experience, Dr. Vijaya Gunturu is more than just an academic leader; he is a bridge-builder between traditional engineering foundations and the future of global innovation. His journey began with a solid academic foundation at SV University, followed by advanced specializations at NIT Warangal and a Ph.D. from IIT Roorkee, shaping him into a scholar with a deep-rooted passion for technical excellence.
A Global Perspective on Quality: Dr. Gunturu’s career is defined by his commitment to making quality education a measurable reality. Whether at BITS Pilani – Dubai or premier Indian institutions like NIT Warangal, he has been the driving force behind modernizing how students learn. He doesn't just manage departments; he transforms them by: Implementing Outcome-Based Education (OBE): Ensuring that what students learn in the classroom translates directly into real-world professional skills. Leading Accreditations: Guiding institutions through the rigorous benchmarks of NBA, NAAC, and NIRF, turning complex data into a roadmap for institutional growth. Modernizing Governance: Integrating ERP systems and data-driven policies to create transparent, efficient academic environments.
Cultivating the Research Ecosystem: Dr. Gunturu believes that an institution is only as strong as its inquiry. Since 1995, he has mentored doctoral scholars and secured crores in funding for government and industry R&D projects. His own research is a testament to his versatility, spanning: Healthcare & Intelligence: Biomedical Instrumentation and Informatics. Future Tech: Machine Learning, IoT, and Artificial Neural Networks. Optimization: Genetic Algorithms and Intelligent Embedded Systems.
Leadership That Empowers: Currently serving as the Principal of the institution, Dr. Gunturu continues to shape the next generation of engineers through curriculum modernization and industry-academia synergy.
As a Senior Member of IEEE, he has been a tireless advocate for student development and global technical discourse, ensuring that Indian research meets the highest international standards of peer-review and publication.
